Creation Farmer Training Course
Man and Woman
Created from the Soil
“For you are dust,
and to dust you shall return.”
Genesis 3:19
Adam and Eve, named by God, translate to "Man" and "Life" in ancient Hebrew. Adam's name is believed to be related to 'adama, meaning "ground" or "soil."
Their relationship symbolizes the connection between soil and life, influencing many to seek a closer bond with our Creator.
Respecting God’s Original Creation
Through its initiatives to emphasize how important living soil is and its ability to sustain all earthbound life forms, the DC Catholic Farming Network is developing a Creation Farming course to train people to be small-scale food producers.
The hybrid course will teach participants through monthly online lectures on topics that promote sustainable and regenerative farming practices.
Practical fieldwork sessions—held near St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Washington, D.C.—will show the food production process to those who have thought about growing their own food but didn't know where to start.
Anyone can grow their own food, and they can do it while reducing dependence on nonrenewable resources like synthetic inputs, plastics, and fossil fuels.
Working with living Creation has its challenges, but it's a skill you can learn, and the DCCFN knows how to teach anyone to do it.
